About Tony

Tony Corson is a free-lance musician in the Dallas/Fort Worth area where he maintains an active private studio. He has a Bachelor of Music as well as a Bachelor of Music Education degree from Drake University in Des Moines, IA. He also has a Master of Music degree in Tuba Performance from the University of Northern Colorado where he was a graduate teaching assistant. Tony has studied with Michael Short, Richard Armandi, and Dr. Jason Byrnes.

Tony has appeared on tuba with the Drake Symphony, the Northern Colorado Symphony, the Greeley Philharmonic, as well as the Chicago Youth Jazz Ensemble and Al Ford’s Dixieland All-Stars.

He is also an accomplished trombone performer, having appeared with the Chicago Businessman’s Orchestra, Drake University Symphony, The Brix Big Band, Drake University Jazz Ensemble I, and the Farmer Tan Funk Band. He currently performs with the Metro Praise Orchestra, a big band based out of Bedford, TX.

Tony has also spent time as a conductor, appearing with the University of Northern Colorado Brass Choir as well as the Bach Festival Orchestra at Lamb of God Lutheran Church in Flower Mound.
