Dr. Amanda Cox

About Amanda

Amanda Cox is adjunct instructor of clarinet at Baylor University. She is also a teacher and freelance musician in the Dallas/Fort Worth area and currently maintains a large private clarinet studio in Keller ISD. In addition to teaching, Dr. Cox also serves as an artist for the D’Addario Reserve Method Program. Her prior teaching experience included serving as a graduate instructor of clarinet at Texas Tech University. She currently serves as a substitute clarinetist with the Lone Star Wind Orchestra, under maestro Eugene Corporon. She has performed at multiple conferences across the United States. Amanda has also performed with the Lone Star Wind Orchestra Clarinet Choir, Lubbock Symphony Orchestra, Texas Tech University Orchestra, and Texas Tech University Wind Ensemble. Dr. Cox earned her D.M.A. and M.M. from Texas Tech University, and her B.M. in music performance from Ouachita Baptist University. Her primary clarinet teachers were Dr. Caroline Taylor and Dr. David Shea. She has also studied in Prague with Karel Dohnal and Stepan Koutnik.
