Carlito Chavez is an accomplished performer and dedicated music educator based in the DFW area. Originally from Keller, Texas, Carlito remains deeply connected to his roots, serving as a private trombone instructor in Keller ISD for Keller Central High School and Timber Creek High School, as well as the associated middle schools that contribute to these programs. Carlito holds a bachelor’s degree in music performance from the University of North Texas, where he studied under the guidance of Dr. Natalie Mannix. He furthered his education at Texas Christian University, obtaining a master’s degree in music performance while serving as the Jazz Graduate Assistant under the mentorship of Dr. David Begnoche.
Carlito has participated in numerous music festivals, including the Pokorny Low Brass Seminar, Third Coast Trombone Retreat, and the National Orchestral Institute and Festival. His stage presence extends to events such as the Texas Music Educators Association, the American Trombone Workshop, and the International Trombone Festival. In addition to his educational endeavors, Carlito also serves as a freelance performer, collaborating with orchestras such as the Texarkana Symphony, Plano Symphony, Irving Symphony and more across Texas and Oklahoma.
